Dr. Hatcher is Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Emory University School of Medicine and serves as lead author for Contraceptive Technology, now in its 20th edition. He has provided expert and compassionate clinical care for thousands of patients and has helped educate generations of women’s health and family planning clinicians. For 30 years he coordinated a summer fellowship program in family planning and human sexuality to educate college and medical students. His 32-page booklet, Choices, describes contraceptive options for young women and men, outlining carefully advantages and disadvantages. He was awarded a Rockefeller Public Service Award (1981) and received special recognition from the Physicians for Reproductive Health and Choice organization.
