Carrie Cwiak completed her medical degree at Saint Louis University in Missouri. As a fourth year medical student, she first worked with Dr. Robert Hatcher during a Family Planning elective at Emory University. She completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut and then a Fellowship in Family Planning and Masters in Public Health in Epidemiology at Emory University. She currently serves as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory University Hospital Midtown, and Director of the Family Planning Division and Family Planning Fellowship. She is also Director of the Translation Core for RISE: the center for reproductive health Research In the SouthEast at Emory. Her research has focused on areas such as: intrauterine contraception, postpartum contraception, and contraception for women with complex medical conditions, among others. She is a clinical and research mentor for junior faculty, fellows, residents, advanced practice providers, and students of varied health disciplines.
